Sandy Hurricane Path U.S (NY). HurricaneSandy” is located 279 miles off the coast of North Carolina and less than 497millas south of New York and is expected to hit the U.S. northeast coast night
Monday.

“Sandy” maintains sustained winds of 74 mph and moving northeast direction at a speed of 14 miles per hour, according to the bulletin of the National Hurricane Center of the United States (CNH) at 8:00 local time.

The NHC has a tropical storm warning north of Surf City, Pamlico County, in the state of North Carolina, and areas close to the city of Norfolk, Virginia south, and the island of Bermuda.

Strong winds are expected and in much of the northeastern United States, from Virginia to Massachusetts, with special attention to the Chesapeake Bay, the state of Delaware, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

The National Weather Service warned of the possibility that tonight reached in Washington DC, the U.S. capital, strong gusts of wind, but the worst is expected to arrive on Monday evening and during Tuesday.
The NHC expects the storm “Sandy” landfall somewhere between Delaware and southern New Jersey, but its effects will be felt intensely within initial stretching from Washington DC to New York, which has ordered the evacuation 375,000 people and public transportation closures.
